Alright, let me tell you about this goblin rocket party deck I’ve been messing with. It started kinda randomly, honestly. I was getting bored with my usual decks, felt like I needed something a bit more… chaotic? Yeah, chaotic is the word. Goblins just scream chaos, don’t they? Cheap, fast, and annoying.

First Tries Were Rough
So, first thing I did? Just grabbed every red goblin card I had lying around and shoved ’em into sleeves. Terrible plan. Like, really bad. I’d play a few small guys, then my opponent would drop one big blocker or a board wipe, and poof. Game over. Didn’t have any real punch, you know?
I thought, okay, maybe it needs more direct damage? Burn spells? Added some Shocks, Lightning Bolts, stuff like that. It helped a little, let me finish off opponents sometimes if I got them low. But it still felt clunky. It wasn’t really a goblin deck anymore, just a bad burn deck with some goblins sprinkled in.
The “Rocket” Idea
Then I stumbled across some old cards. Found a playset of Goblin Grenades. Sac a goblin, deal 5 damage. Simple. Brutal. Goblin-y. That got me thinking. What if the goblins were the ammunition? What if the whole point was just launching goblins at my opponent’s face?
That’s where the “rocket party” idea really took off. I started looking for more ways to sacrifice goblins for value. Stuff like:
- Skirk Prospector: Sac a goblin, get red mana. More mana means more goblins!
- Goblin Bombardment: Sac a creature, ping anything for 1 damage. Not as flashy as Grenade, but repeatable. Non-stop goblin flinging!
- Pashalik Mons: When a goblin dies, ping anything for 1. Perfect synergy with sacrificing.
Suddenly, losing my goblins wasn’t a bad thing. It was part of the plan! I needed lots of goblins, cheap ones, tokens especially. So I jammed in cards like Krenko, Mob Boss (obviously), Dragon Fodder, Krenko’s Command, and Mogg War Marshal. Things that just make bodies appear out of nowhere.
Putting It To The Test
Okay, so I sleeved up this new version. More goblins, more ways to sacrifice them for damage or mana. Took it to play with some friends. First game? Drew all my expensive stuff and sacrifice outlets, but no cheap goblins to get started. Died horribly. Felt bad, man.
But the second game… oh yeah. Got a Prospector out early, then a War Marshal. Sacrificed the tokens for mana, played more goblins. Then I dropped a Goblin Chieftain to pump the team. My friend was trying to stabilize, playing blockers. But then I drew Goblin Bombardment. Started chucking goblins at his face, one damage at a time. He blocked my attackers, didn’t matter. I just sacrificed them before damage. Ping, ping, ping. Managed to burn him out. It felt great! So stupid, but so effective when it works.
Still Tinkering
Look, this deck isn’t gonna win any major tournaments. It’s fragile. A well-timed sweeper still wrecks my day. Sometimes you just draw the wrong half of the deck. It needs fuel – lots of creatures – and it needs the sacrifice engines. Miss one part, and it kinda falls flat.

I’m still tweaking it. Maybe needs more card draw? Maybe some artifact mana to get going faster? Could probably use something like Goblin Matron to find key pieces. Dunno yet. But the core idea, the goblin rocket party, it’s just fun. When you untap with Krenko and a Bombardment out? Pure joy. Launching goblins like angry little fireworks. It’s dumb, it’s explosive, and it makes me laugh. That’s kinda the point, right?
