So, I’d been thinking about getting a Paul George sweatshirt for a while. Not just any sweatshirt, mind you. I had this specific one stuck in my head, maybe from his earlier days, can’t quite recall if it was Pacers or maybe Thunder era, but I knew the look I wanted.

Starting the Search
First thing I did, naturally, was hop online. I hit up the usual big sports apparel sites. You know the ones. Typed in “Paul George sweatshirt” and scrolled through pages and pages. Lots of Clippers gear, which is cool, but not what I was picturing. Found some generic Nike stuff too, but nothing clicked.
Okay, I thought, maybe this design is older, discontinued. Time to dig a bit deeper. My next move was to check out those second-hand marketplaces. Places where people sell used clothes. I tried different search terms:
- paul george vintage sweatshirt
- paul george pacers sweatshirt
- paul george thunder sweatshirt
- pg13 old school sweatshirt
Man, that was a rabbit hole. Found some interesting stuff, some real throwback jerseys even, but still not the sweatshirt. Saw a couple that were close, but either the condition looked rough in the photos, or the price was just way higher than I expected.
Getting Specific
I spent a good chunk of an afternoon just filtering results, zooming in on pictures, trying to verify authenticity. You gotta be careful, lots of knock-offs out there. I looked closely at the tags, the stitching, the logo placement on the few candidates I found. Compared them to old game photos I searched for separately, just to be sure.
It started feeling like a real hunt. I even checked some fan forums, thinking maybe someone there would know where to look or might be selling one. Posted a query in one or two places, describing what I remembered. Got a few replies, mostly people saying “good luck” or suggesting the same sites I’d already scoured.
The Find (Almost)
Then, finally, on some obscure vintage clothing site I stumbled upon, I saw it. Or at least, I thought I saw it. The picture wasn’t great, a bit blurry. But the color, the cut, the faint outline of the logo… it looked right. It was listed simply as “Basketball Player Sweatshirt”. The seller didn’t seem to know exactly what they had, which sometimes means a good deal.
I messaged the seller, asked for clearer pictures, specifically of the tags and any logos. Waited a day or two. They sent back a couple more photos. Yep, that was it! Looked pretty worn, a bit faded, but authentically the one I remembered.
Decision Time. The price wasn’t bad, considering how hard it was to find. But looking at the condition again, I hesitated. It was definitely well-loved. Would I actually wear it much, or would it just be a collector’s piece? After sleeping on it, I decided to pass. The hunt itself was kind of fun, satisfying in a weird way, even without the final purchase.

So yeah, that was my little adventure trying to track down a specific Paul George sweatshirt. Didn’t end up buying it, but the process of searching and digging through all that stuff was an experience in itself. Sometimes the journey is the point, right?
