Okay, so I got curious the other day, you know, after WrestleMania 40 wrapped up. Cody Rhodes finally did his thing, finished the story, beat Roman Reigns. Big moment, right? And it got me thinking, where was his brother, Dustin? Was Dustin Rhodes, you know, Goldust back in the day, actually at WrestleMania 40 to see it?

My Search Begins
First thing I did, like anyone else, I just grabbed my phone and started searching. Typed in stuff like “Dustin Rhodes WrestleMania 40”, “Was Goldust backstage WM 40”, “Did Dustin Rhodes attend WrestleMania”. Just the usual keywords you’d throw at a search engine.
Got a bunch of results back, mostly articles talking about Cody’s win, which, yeah, expected. Lots of chatter about The Rock, John Cena, Undertaker showing up. But finding anything concrete about Dustin? That was tougher.
Digging a Bit Deeper
So, I refined my search a little. Started looking through wrestling news sites, the ones that usually report on backstage stuff. Checked out some of the bigger fan forums too, see if anyone spotted him or if there were any rumors flying around.
Here’s the thing I kept running into:
- No Photos or Videos: I couldn’t find a single picture or clip of Dustin anywhere near the stadium in Philly that weekend. Usually, if someone notable is backstage, even just visiting, someone snaps a pic. Found nothing.
- No Official Reports: None of the reliable wrestling news outlets mentioned him being there. They reported on pretty much everyone else who made a surprise appearance or was just visiting, but Dustin’s name wasn’t on those lists.
- His AEW Job: This is the big one, right? Dustin works for AEW. He’s a wrestler and a coach there. It’s generally a big no-no, or at least very complicated, for talent from one major company to just show up at the other’s biggest event, even for family. Politics and contracts, you know?
I even checked Dustin’s own social media, like his Twitter feed around that time. He was definitely congratulating Cody, posting supportive stuff. Really proud big brother vibes, which was cool to see. But his posts seemed like they were coming from someone watching from afar, not someone actually in the building soaking it all in. No hints he was actually in Philadelphia.
Putting it Together
So, after all that looking around, clicking through pages, and reading fan chatter, I came up pretty empty-handed on evidence that Dustin Rhodes was physically at WrestleMania 40.
My conclusion? Based on everything I could find (or rather, couldn’t find), it seems highly unlikely he was there in person. The lack of any photos, reports, or even solid rumors, combined with the fact he works for AEW, points towards him celebrating Cody’s win from somewhere else.
It makes sense he’d want to be there, seeing his little brother achieve that dream. But the reality of the wrestling business probably kept him away. Still, you could feel his support online, and that counts for something too.
