Okay, so I needed to look up some New Orleans Pelicans stats the other day. Been watching them a bit, you know, and got curious about how things were really shaking out, number-wise.

First thing I did, naturally, was just hop on my computer. Opened up my usual web browser. Didn’t have a specific site in mind right off the bat, so I just typed in something simple like ‘new orleans pelicans statistics’ into the search bar. Hit enter and waited for the results.
Got a whole bunch of stuff back, as you’d expect. Lots of news headlines, scores from recent games, that kind of thing. Had to scroll past the immediate game results because I was looking for more season-long stuff, you know? Not just last night’s box score.
Digging a Bit Deeper
So I refined my search a little. Tried ‘pelicans team stats season’ or something similar. That started bringing up some better results. Found links mentioning the official league site and some major sports statistics hubs. I tend to trust the official league site stuff first, usually pretty accurate, though sometimes it’s not the easiest to navigate.
I clicked through to one that looked promising. Had to poke around a bit on the page. You know how these sites are, sometimes the stats are buried under a few menus. Found a section specifically for team stats. Bingo.
Started looking at the basics first:
- Points per game – see how their offense stacks up.
- Rebounds per game – always curious about how they do on the boards.
- Assists – tells you a bit about ball movement.
- Opponent points per game – gotta see the defensive side too.
It was all laid out pretty clearly once I found the right table. Could see their rankings in the league for different categories. Then I wanted to check out individual players. Usually, there’s a ‘Roster’ or ‘Player Stats’ tab nearby.
Clicked on that, and yeah, got the list of players. Could sort by points, rebounds, assists, whatever I wanted. Spent some time looking at the main guys, checking their shooting percentages, minutes played, stuff like that. It’s interesting to see who’s really carrying the load beyond just the highlights you see on TV.
Found what I needed. Took a little bit of clicking and scrolling, but wasn’t too hard. Got the basic season stats for the team and the key players. Satisfied my curiosity for the moment. It’s always good to check the numbers yourself instead of just relying on what commentators say, I figure.
