Okay, so yesterday I was messing around in Elden Ring, right? Aiming for that one build everyone’s talking about, the one with all the crazy bleed damage. And that meant I needed to get my hands on the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia.

First thing I did, naturally, was look it up online. Found out it’s a reward for helping Millicent with her questline, siding with her against her sisters. Now, I’d messed up this questline before, accidentally killing her way too early. So, this time I was extra careful.
Started by finding Millicent at the Church of the Plague in Caelid. She’s basically dying of scarlet rot there, so I had to give her the Unalloyed Gold Needle. Remember getting that thing all the way back in Gowry’s Shack, felt like ages ago.
After that, I followed her quest through those different locations, Windmill Village being the most annoying one, ugh those frenzy villagers. Made sure to exhaust her dialogue at each spot, just to be safe. Didn’t want to miss any triggers.
The real decision point came at the end, in the Prayer Room of Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. There are two summon signs: one to help Millicent fight her sisters, and one to invade her world and kill her. To get the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, you gotta side with Millicent. No pressure, right?
So, I touched the gold summon sign, got summoned into her world, and we took on her sisters. Honestly, they weren’t too bad. With my build, and Millicent’s help, we smashed ’em pretty quick. Felt good, actually helping someone in that game for once.
After the fight, I talked to Millicent again, exhausted her dialogue again, and then reloaded the area. Found her lying there, gave her the needle, and boom, the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia was mine! That thing is a beast. Stack it with the Thorny Cracked Tear and you’re pretty much a walking blender of death in boss fights.
I gotta say, the whole questline, while a little convoluted, was worth it. Now I can finally try out this crazy bleed build properly. Time to go melt some bosses!
Oh, and a quick tip, if you’re doing this yourself: double, triple check you’re exhausting the dialogue at each stage. That’s where most people mess up. And definitely make a backup save before the final decision, just in case you fat-finger something.

That’s all for now, gonna go back to farming runes and perfecting my blood loss technique!
