Okay, let’s talk about how I got my hands on the Polo Grounds in MLB The Show 23. It wasn’t exactly straightforward, took a bit of digging and then a whole lot of playing.
Figuring Out Where It Was Hiding
First off, I really wanted that stadium. It’s just iconic, right? So, I booted up the game, went into Diamond Dynasty, thinking maybe it was just something you could buy with stubs or find easily. I checked the stadium market first. Nope, not there. Then I looked through my inventory, maybe I got it from a pack and didn’t notice? Still no luck.
My next thought went to how things worked in older versions of The Show. Usually, the really cool classic stadiums were tied to collections. So, I navigated over to the ‘Collect’ tab in Diamond Dynasty. I started poking around.
The Big Discovery (and the Big Task)
I went straight for the ‘Live Series’ collections. Seemed like the most logical place. And boom, there it was. Listed plain as day as one of the big rewards. But here’s the kicker: you didn’t just have to collect one team, or one division, or even one league.
You had to collect EVERY SINGLE Live Series player in the game.
Yep. All 30 teams. Every diamond, gold, silver, bronze, and common player. When I saw that, I knew it was going to be a serious grind. No easy way out here.
My Process: The Grind Begins
Alright, so knowing what I had to do, I just started chipping away at it. Here’s basically what I did:
- Played a TON of the game. Conquest maps, Mini Seasons, Events, Ranked… anything that gave out rewards like packs or stubs. Every little bit helped.
- Focused on finishing programs. The Team Affinity programs, player programs, inning programs – they all give you packs and players, which either fill collection spots or can be sold.
- Opened every single pack I earned. You hope for pulling those expensive gatekeeper diamonds like Trout or Judge, but even getting lower-tier guys saves you from buying them.
- Started working the marketplace. This was huge. When I had some stubs, I’d try to flip cards. Buy players when their price dipped, sell when it went up. It takes patience, believe me, and you don’t always win, but it’s how you build up stubs without spending real cash.
- Tackled the cheaper teams first. I went through each team roster, figured out which ones didn’t have super expensive diamond players, and completed those collections first. Got some decent XP and smaller rewards along the way, which kept me motivated.
- Saved up for the big fish. Those high diamonds on teams like the Angels, Yankees, Mets… they cost a fortune. It was a slow process of saving stubs, sometimes selling other valuable cards I pulled, just to afford one of those guys.
- Dealt with duplicates. Sold any valuable duplicates I pulled that were sellable. The unsellable ones just sat there, but hey, sometimes you get lucky.
Finally Getting There
Honestly, it took a long time. Weeks of playing pretty consistently, managing my stubs, and slowly checking off players and teams. There were times I thought I’d never finish it.
But eventually, I got down to the last few players. Saved up, put in the buy orders, and held my breath. Once that final player was added to my collection, I went back to the Live Series collection screen.

All teams showed complete. I scrolled down to the main reward section for completing everything. There it was: the Polo Grounds reward pack. I clicked ‘Claim’. Felt like a huge accomplishment after all that effort.
So yeah, that’s how I did it. No secret trick, just a lot of playing the game, working the market, and slowly collecting every single Live Series player. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but you can definitely get it done if you want that unique ballpark bad enough!
