Okay, so I spent a chunk of my afternoon yesterday trying to track down this blasted Kalpagni Lantern in Honkai Star Rail. Figured I’d share my findings, because, man, that thing was hiding!
First off, I started where everyone probably starts: the obvious spots. I checked the shops in the Administrative District on Jarilo-VI. You know, the usual places you can buy those kinds of basic materials. Nada. Zilch. Nothing. I even triple-checked, thinking maybe I missed it. Nope.
Then, I remembered I’d picked up a couple of these lanterns randomly while exploring. So, I went into my inventory, just to see if I could craft it from something. Nope, it wasn’t a craftable item. That was a bit of a bummer.
Next up, I hit up the Simulated Universe. I figured, hey, maybe I’ll get lucky and one will drop. I ran through a few worlds, focusing on combat encounters. Still no luck. I started to get a little frustrated at this point.
Alright, time to get serious. I hopped onto the trusty internet and started searching. Turns out, the best place to find these Kalpagni Lanterns is in the Supply Zones of the Stargazer Navalia on the Xianzhou Loufu. Specifically, I kept encountering them inside destructible objects. Like, those little containers and crates you can smash. This was the key!
So, I teleported to the Stargazer Navalia and just started running around, smashing everything in sight. And what do you know? After a few minutes, I finally found one! Then another, and another! I was just smashing everything I saw, running from zone to zone.
Here’s the pro-tip I wish I’d known from the start: Focus on the zones with more destructible objects. The ones with lots of crates stacked up. Those are your best bets for finding the Kalpagni Lanterns. Just smash everything that isn’t nailed down!
It took me about half an hour of running around and smashing stuff, but I finally got enough lanterns to level up the Traces for my character. It’s not the most glamorous way to spend an afternoon, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do!
So, to recap:
- Don’t waste your time in the shops.
- Forget about crafting.
- Head straight to the Stargazer Navalia on the Xianzhou Loufu.
- Smash everything.
