Alright, let’s talk about the Buffalo Bills and those Super Bowls. Man, what a ride that was… and what a heartbreak!

So, I was just a kid back then, but I remember it all pretty vividly. Started in ’90, right? First Super Bowl against the Giants. I remember being so hyped. Everyone in Buffalo was, you know? We actually thought we were gonna win it all.
What I did, I grabbed every newspaper I could find leading up to the game. Cut out all the articles, the player profiles, you name it. Made a whole scrapbook. My mom thought I was nuts. I even had a Bills-themed cake for the party we had that day. Epic fail at the end, though. You know, that wide right field goal…still stings.
Next year, same thing! Super Bowl XXVI against Washington (now Commanders). Okay, maybe this is our year, right? Wrong. We got stomped. I was crushed. I didn’t even want to look at the scrapbook. I remember tossing the deflated football I’d been throwing around all day into the closet, like it was somehow the ball’s fault. Kid logic, you know?
Then came Super Bowl XXVII against the Cowboys. Alright, third time’s the charm? Nope. Another loss. I was starting to get a complex. Started questioning my own fandom. Like, was I somehow jinxing them? It’s dumb, I know, but I was a kid!
And then…Super Bowl XXVIII, also against the Cowboys. You gotta be kidding me. Seriously? Fourth time? We actually had a lead at halftime! I let myself get a little bit hopeful. Big mistake. They came roaring back. Another loss. At this point, I just… I just sat there. Numb. Didn’t even cry. Just…numb.
After that fourth loss, I kind of just stopped collecting stuff. Put the scrapbook away. It’s still up in my attic somewhere, I think. I kept being a fan, but it was different. More guarded. Less… naive. I mean, I still root for the Bills every Sunday, but that era…it taught me some hard lessons about sports. And life, I guess.
Anyway, that’s my Bills Super Bowl experience. Four years. Four losses. Lots of heartbreak. But hey, at least we made it there, right? Gotta find the silver linings. Go Bills!
