So, I’d been wanting a pair of black Celtics shorts for a while. I know, I know, green is the classic, but I just thought the black ones looked really slick, kinda different. Saw some players rocking similar styles during warmups or alternative games, and it just stuck in my head.

Finding them turned out to be a bit more of a mission than I expected. First, I checked the usual big online sports stores. You know the ones. Lots of green options, plenty of jerseys, but the specific black shorts I had in mind? Not so easy. Some were sold out in my size, others were youth sizes, or just not the exact style I pictured.
The Hunt Continues
I spent a few evenings just browsing different sites. Typed in every variation I could think of: “black celtics shorts,” “celtics alternate shorts black,” “boston celtics practice shorts black.” It felt like I was digging for treasure. I even checked some smaller fan gear websites, hoping maybe they’d have some hidden gems. Still no luck with the exact pair I wanted in my size (turns out, I’m not the only one who thought they looked good!).
Then I remembered a local sports apparel shop near me. It’s not huge, but sometimes they have stuff the big online places don’t, or maybe older stock. Decided to swing by one afternoon after work. Walked in, headed straight for the basketball section. Scanned the racks… green, white, green… and then, tucked away near the back, I saw it. A single pair of black Celtics shorts. And guess what? It was my size!
Felt like a proper victory, honestly. Grabbed them quick before anyone else could spot them. Checked them out – good material, looked legit. Headed straight to the checkout. Didn’t even bother looking at anything else, just wanted to secure the prize.
Finally Got ‘Em
Got home and tried them on straight away. Perfect fit. They felt really comfortable too, good material for just lounging around or maybe shooting some hoops (if I ever get around to it, ha!). It’s just cool having something a bit different from the standard green gear everyone else has. Definitely happy I put in the effort to track them down instead of just settling for something else.
