Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about Scottie Scheffler’s driver. I mean, the dude’s a beast, right? I was watching him play last weekend, and I was like, “Man, what’s he using to smash those drives?” So, I did some digging, like any golf obsessed weekend warrior would.
First off, found out he’s a TaylorMade guy. That’s no surprise, they’re everywhere on tour. So, naturally, I went straight to the TaylorMade website. After a bit of scrolling and some forum lurking, I figured out he’s currently gaming the TaylorMade Qi10 driver.
Now, I’m not gonna lie, I had to try it out. I went down to my local golf shop – Golf Galaxy, you know the place – and asked to hit a few balls with the Qi10. The guy behind the counter gave me that look, you know, the one that says “yeah right, you’re gonna hit it like Scheffler.”
But hey, I gave it a shot. First swing? Topped it. Second swing? A little better, but still not great. After a few more tries, I finally started to get the feel of it. The ball was definitely launching higher, and I felt like I could swing a bit harder without losing control. Now, I’m no Scottie Scheffler, and my swing speed is probably closer to my age than his, but I was definitely seeing some extra distance. Maybe like, 10-15 yards? Worth it?
I also read some stuff online about how he pairs it with a Qi35 fairway wood. Apparently, he’s bombing that thing like 270 yards in the air! That’s insane! I’m lucky if I can get my 3-wood to go 230 on a good day. Haven’t tried that one yet, maybe next week’s experiment.
Look, am I suddenly gonna start playing like Scottie Scheffler just because I used his driver? Nah, probably not. But it was fun to try out the equipment the pros use, and I definitely saw a bit of improvement in my drives. Plus, now I can at least sound like I know what I’m talking about when I’m watching golf with my buddies.
So, bottom line: Scottie Scheffler uses a TaylorMade Qi10 driver. I tried it. It’s pretty good. Now, I just need to work on the rest of my game… and maybe win the lottery so I can afford to play as much golf as he does!
