Alright folks, lemme tell ya ’bout this “spooky soiree rewards” thing I messed around with. It was a bit of a headache, but hey, that’s half the fun, right?

So, first things first, I needed to figure out what the heck a “spooky soiree rewards” even was. Turns out, it’s basically a system where you give out different rewards based on how people participate in a Halloween-themed event. Sounds simple enough, yeah? Well…
I started by mapping out the different participation levels. Like, who just showed up? Who dressed up? Who actually, like, did something? I broke it down into tiers:
- Spectator: Just there, soaking it all in.
- Costume Contestant: Put in the effort to dress up.
- Game Player: Played some of the games we set up.
- Volunteer: Actually helped run the event!
Next, I had to figure out the rewards. This is where I spent way too much time. I wanted something fun, relevant, and not too expensive. I landed on a mix of:
- Candy (duh!)
- Small Halloween-themed trinkets (think spider rings, mini skeletons)
- Raffle tickets for a bigger prize (a gift card to a local pizza place)
- Bragging rights (obviously!)
Then came the actual implementation. I used a simple spreadsheet to track who did what. Manually, of course. No fancy automation here! I made columns for Name, Participation Level, and Reward Given. It was tedious, but it kept things organized…ish.
The day of the event, I set up a reward station. Had all the candy, trinkets, and raffle tickets laid out. As people participated, I’d check their name against the spreadsheet, mark their participation level, and hand out the corresponding reward.
One major problem I ran into was keeping track of who got what. People were sneaky! Some tried to claim they played more games than they did, or that they helped volunteer when they were just hanging out. I had to be strict, but fair. Lots of reminding folks what they actually did, and sticking to the spreadsheet. Lesson learned: have more helpers next time!.
After the event, I collected all the raffle tickets and drew the winner for the pizza gift card. That was a blast! Everyone cheered, and the winner was super stoked.
Wrap-up and results? It was pretty successful, actually. People seemed to enjoy the rewards, and it definitely encouraged participation. Next time, I’m gonna try to:

- Get more volunteers to help with the reward station.
- Implement some kind of online tracking system (maybe?).
- Have even more candy!
Anyway, that was my “spooky soiree rewards” experience. It was a little chaotic, but a lot of fun. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Just need to tweak a few things to make it smoother next time. And buy more candy. Always more candy.
