Okay, so I’ve been sinking a good chunk of time into Solo Leveling: Arise lately, like, a lot. The game’s pretty addictive, you know? And one thing that always gets people talking is the summoning, especially those special summons. You hope for that top-tier character, right? So, I figured, why not put together my own take on a tier list for these special summon characters, based purely on what I’ve actually seen and used in the game.

Getting Started – The Grind
First thing first, you can’t make a list without playing the game. A lot. I spent days, maybe weeks, just grinding through the story mode, clearing gates, tackling instance dungeons, and trying out different team comps. Every time I got a new character from a special summon, I made it a point to actually slot them into my team.
I didn’t just leave them on the bench. I took them out for spins in various scenarios. How do they handle big bosses? How quick are they at clearing waves of mobs? Do their skills actually feel useful, or just flashy?
Watching and Noting Things Down
While playing, I started taking notes. Nothing fancy, just scribbles really. Who hits hard? Who can take a punch? Are their support skills actually making a difference? I paid close attention to things like:
- Damage Output: Pretty straightforward. How much hurt can they put out, and how quickly?
- Survivability: Can they stay alive? Do they have shields, heals, or dodges?
- Usefulness (Utility): Do they bring something else to the table? Buffs, debuffs, crowd control?
- Synergy: How well do they actually work with other commonly used characters? Some characters are great on their own but awkward in a team.
I tried to test them in different types of content because a character amazing for boss fights might be slow for clearing regular gates, and vice versa.
Trying to Make Sense of It – The Tiers
After getting a feel for a good number of the special summon characters, I started trying to rank them. This is the tough part, honestly. It’s not always black and white.
I decided on a pretty standard tier system – S, A, B, maybe C.
- S Tier: These are the game-changers, the ones I found consistently powerful and useful almost everywhere. Getting one of these feels like hitting the jackpot.
- A Tier: Really solid characters. Maybe not quite as broken as S tier, but still super effective and reliable in most situations. You’re happy pulling these.
- B Tier: Decent characters. They have their uses, maybe shine in specific situations or team setups, but aren’t universally amazing. Need a bit more work or support.
- C Tier: Look, someone has to be here. These are characters I found generally underwhelming or too niche compared to the others. Usable? Maybe. Optimal? Rarely, in my experience.
Putting it together wasn’t easy. Sometimes a character felt like they were borderline between two tiers. I had to just make a call based on my overall gut feeling and how often I actually found myself wanting to use them over other options.
Writing It Down – My Personal List
Finally, I sat down and wrote out the list. I made sure to add short notes for each character, explaining why I put them in that specific tier based on my playtime. It’s not just about the ranking; it’s about the reasoning from my own hands-on experience.

I didn’t just copy what others were saying online. Sure, I glanced at some discussions later to see if I was totally off-base, but the core list came from my own grinding and testing. Sometimes my rankings matched popular opinion, sometimes they didn’t. That’s fine, it’s my practice record, right?
So yeah, that was the process. Lots of playing, lots of swapping characters in and out, taking simple notes, and then trying to organize it all into something that makes sense based on what I actually experienced. It’s definitely my current view, and it might change as I play more or the game gets updated.
