Alright, so I fired up League for some ARAM the other day, you know, just to chill. The champ select rolls around, and who do I get? Fiddlesticks. Wasn’t exactly thrilled, wasn’t mad either. Fiddle in ARAM can be pretty hit or miss, depends a lot on the team comps, both yours and theirs.

First thing I did was check their lineup. Bunch of squishies, not too much hard CC to interrupt my drain. Okay, maybe this could work. I grabbed the usual starting items, Lost Chapter mainly, gotta have that mana early on. Threw on the Snowball summoner spell too, ’cause landing a good Fiddle ult often means getting right in their faces, and Snowball helps bridge that gap on the Howling Abyss.
Early game was mostly about poking with my E, the Reap ability. Just bouncing that crow back and forth, trying to silence whoever stepped up too far. Didn’t go for anything crazy, just farmed minions when I could, stayed back mostly. Tried a few W drains (Bountiful Harvest) when someone got hit by CC from my team, just to sustain a bit and add some damage. It’s always tempting to go aggressive early, but Fiddle’s pretty fragile before he gets some items and levels.
Getting into the thick of it
Mid-game is where Fiddle starts to matter in ARAM. I finished Liandry’s Anguish first. That burn damage is just too good on him, especially in those long ARAM fights. Then I started building towards Zhonya’s Hourglass. This item is pretty much non-negotiable on Fiddle, especially in ARAM. You ult in, you pop Zhonya’s, you cause chaos, you hopefully live.
Finding the right moment to ult (Crowstorm) is the whole game with Fiddle, right? I spent a lot of time lurking in the side brushes or just out of vision. Waited for them to clump up, maybe focus one of my tankier teammates. Found a decent spot, channeled that ult… CAW CAW CAW! Flew right into three of them. Immediately hit Zhonya’s as they all turned on me. My team followed up, we cleaned them up. Felt good, not gonna lie. Did it work every time? Hell no. Sometimes I’d ult in and get blown up instantly before I could even press the Zhonya’s button. That’s just ARAM Fiddle for you.
- Key thing 1: Patience. Don’t just ult off cooldown. Wait for the right moment.
- Key thing 2: Vision denial. Use Oracle Lens or just hug the fog of war. Surprise is your best weapon.
- Key thing 3: Zhonya’s is your best friend. Seriously, build it. Use it.
Wrapping up the match
Late game, I had Liandry’s, Zhonya’s, Shadowflame for more damage, maybe a Void Staff if they started building magic resist. Fights got messier. Everyone’s hitting harder. Positioning became even more critical. A good ult could still swing a fight massively, but a bad one meant a long grey screen. We were going back and forth. Landed another decent ult near their inhibitor, popped Zhonya’s again. This time it was enough. We pushed through, took the Nexus.
So yeah, that was my Fiddlesticks ARAM game. It wasn’t revolutionary, didn’t reinvent the wheel. Just played him the way you kinda have to in that mode. Poke, wait, find the flank, hope your team follows up on the ult, and pray you timed your Zhonya’s right. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. This time, it did. Was fun enough.
