Alright, so today I spent some time trying to grab photos of different birds in Genshin. You know how it is, sometimes you get these little quests or maybe you just want to fill out the archive. Anyway, my target was getting snaps of two specific types.

First thing, I made sure I had my Kamera gadget equipped. The regular one, not the special event one, though either works I guess. I figured I’d start with the most obvious birds around – the pigeons. Everyone knows the ones near Timmie on the Mondstadt bridge, right? So I headed over there.
Getting close is always the tricky part. Those things scatter if you even breathe too hard. I tried walking slowly, like really slowly, from the city side of the bridge. My plan was to stop at a distance, whip out the Kamera, zoom in if needed, and snap the picture before they noticed me. The first couple of tries? Total fail. They just flew off the second I got maybe halfway across the bridge. Super annoying.
Then I thought, okay, maybe creeping isn’t the best way. What if I just teleported to the waypoint right near the bridge entrance and immediately opened the Kamera? So I did that. Teleported, instantly hit the gadget button, aimed at the flock… and click! Got ’em. It wasn’t the most artistic shot, just a bunch of pigeons on the ground, but it counted. One type down.
Okay, Onto Bird Number Two
For the second type, I wanted something different. Not those big cranes, maybe some smaller finches. I remembered seeing some around the trees and bushes in Liyue Harbor sometimes, near the upper areas. So, I teleported over there.
Finding them took a bit longer than the pigeons. I wandered around the pathways, looking up into the trees and on railings. Eventually, near one of the buildings with some bushes nearby, I spotted a couple of small, brownish birds pecking at the ground. Finches, I think. They seemed less jumpy than the pigeons, which was a nice change.
This time, I tried the slow approach again. Walked casually, not directly towards them, but sort of circling around to get a good angle. Pulled out the Kamera while still moving slowly. They paused, looked up for a second, but didn’t fly away immediately. Success! I managed to get a clear shot of one before it fluttered off into the bushes.
So yeah, that was my little bird photography adventure today. Took a bit of patience, especially with those Mondstadt pigeons, but got both photos in the end. It’s kind of fun, trying to capture these little critters in the game world. Makes you notice the small details more, you know?
