Alright, so I got bit by the Tiger Woods golf card bug. It all started when I stumbled across a thread online about some crazy valuable cards. I was like, “Golf cards? Really?” But, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to see what the fuss was all about.
First thing I did? Research, baby! I spent hours online, digging through forums, eBay listings, and card grading sites. I needed to figure out what years were hot, which cards were rare, and what the heck “PSA 10” actually meant. It was a deep dive, let me tell you. My brain was swimming in card numbers and acronyms.
Next up, I started small. I hit up some local card shops and flea markets. I wasn’t looking for the Holy Grail right away, just trying to get my hands on some cards and get a feel for them. I bought a bunch of cheap Tiger Woods cards from the late 90s and early 2000s. Mostly base cards and some random inserts. Nothing fancy, but it was a start.
Then came the fun part – sorting and organizing! I grabbed some card sleeves, top loaders, and a binder, and got to work. It was surprisingly satisfying to see my little collection come together. I even started a spreadsheet to keep track of what I had and what I was looking for. I felt like a real collector!

When the grades finally came back, I was pumped! One card got a PSA 9, which was way better than I expected. Sold it, made a little profit, and reinvested it in more cards. The cycle continues!
Of course, I made some mistakes along the way. Bought a couple of cards that turned out to be overpriced. Missed out on some auctions because I got distracted. But hey, that’s part of the learning process. I kept at it, kept learning, and kept building my collection.
Where am I now? Well, I’m still a newbie compared to some of those hardcore collectors out there. But I’ve got a decent little Tiger Woods collection going, and I’m having a blast doing it. It’s not just about the money, although that’s a nice bonus. It’s about the thrill of the hunt, the excitement of finding a rare card, and the satisfaction of building something cool.
