Okay, so I got this idea in my head the other week about those S. Carter sneakers. Remember them? Had a moment where I just thought, “Wonder if I could still get my hands on a pair of those?” Not for any big reason, just kinda curious, you know? Felt like a bit of a throwback project.

First thing, I jumped online. Did the usual searches, checked out the big sneaker selling spots. Nothing. Well, not quite nothing. Saw a few pairs listed, but the prices were just nuts. Like, collector item prices. And some looked pretty beat up too. Wasn’t really looking to spend a fortune or get something falling apart.
So, I switched gears. Started looking at those resale apps people use. Spent a good chunk of time scrolling, typing in different search terms. Found a few more, yeah, but same deal. Either priced way too high or looked like they’d been through a war. It was getting a little frustrating, honestly. Thought maybe this was a dumb idea.
Then I remembered some old forums, you know, those message board type places people used to hang out on to talk sneakers and stuff. Figured it was a long shot, but couldn’t hurt. Found a couple that were still active, surprisingly.
Digging Around
Started poking around in there. Posted a message asking if anyone knew where to find S. Carters, or if anyone had a pair they might sell. Got a few replies, mostly just people saying “good luck” or sharing memories. It took a few days, checking back now and then.
Finally, got a message from some guy. Said he thought he had a pair packed away somewhere. Wasn’t sure of the condition but would look. Didn’t hear back for like, two days. Almost forgot about it.
Then, boom, message pops up. He found them! Sent over some pictures. They looked pretty decent, actually. Way better than most I’d seen online. Still in the original box, even. We chatted back and forth a bit, talked about the size, condition again. He seemed like a straight-up guy.
We eventually agreed on a price. Felt fair, considering how hard they were to find in good shape. Sending money to someone you only know from a forum feels a bit weird, always does. But I went for it.
The Waiting and the Result
Then came the waiting game. Felt longer than it probably was. Kept checking the tracking he sent. Finally, the package showed up at my door. Felt kinda like being a kid again for a second.

Opened it up carefully. Pulled them out. Looked them over real close. Checked the logos, the soles, the stitching. Everything matched the pictures he sent. They were legit, and in really good condition for their age. A bit of cleaning maybe, but nothing major.
So, yeah. Managed to track down a pair. It took some digging, more than just clicking “buy now” somewhere. Had to go through old channels, talk to people. It worked out in the end.
They’re sitting on a shelf now. Probably won’t wear them much, more of a nostalgia piece. But the whole process, the hunt, that was kinda the interesting part. Just wanted to share how I went about it, in case anyone else gets a similar idea.
