Alright, so today I wanna talk about something I messed around with recently: Ja Morant’s overall rating in NBA 2K24. I know, I know, it’s just a game, but I get weirdly invested in this stuff.

It all started when I saw some chatter online about his rating. Some folks thought it was too high, others too low, typical internet stuff. So, naturally, I had to see for myself. I fired up 2K24, went straight to the player roster, and searched for Ja. Boom, there he was. Checked out his overall, saw it, and thought, “Hmm, interesting.”
But just seeing the number wasn’t enough. I wanted to feel if it was accurate, ya know? So, I jumped into a quick Play Now game, chose the Grizzlies, and started chucking the ball to Ja every chance I got. Dribbling, driving, dunking – I was trying everything. Paid close attention to how he moved, how he shot, how effective he was against the CPU defenders.
Played a couple of games like that, just focusing on Ja. Then, I decided to tweak things a bit. I went into the player edit screen and started messing with his attributes. Boosted his shooting stats a bit, lowered his defensive ratings a tad, just to see how it would impact his performance in the game. Hopped back into Play Now, ran some more games, and compared the results.
Honestly? It was a bit of a rabbit hole. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just fiddling with Ja Morant’s 2K24 stats. Was it productive? Nah, probably not. But was it fun? Absolutely. And did it give me a slightly better understanding of how the 2K rating system works? Maybe a little.
My takeaway? The initial overall rating wasn’t too far off, but I personally think his inside scoring should be a bit higher. He’s a beast around the rim. But hey, that’s just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
Anyway, that’s my little 2K adventure for the day. Don’t judge me too hard. We all have our nerdy hobbies, right?
