Well, well, well, look at this. My 49ers, they play football. Good football, I tell ya! This year, they talkin’ ’bout 49ers playoffs. You know, that big game at the end. They playin’ real good, these boys. Strong and fast, like a mule kickin’ a bucket!
They say this Patrick Taylor gonna be playin’. He’s a runnin’ back, like them horses runnin’ at the county fair. He’s gonna be startin’ ’cause that other fella, Isaac, he’s likely out. Heard he got hurt. That’s a shame, but it happens. Like when my old Bessie got her leg caught in the fence. Gotta keep on goin’, though.
Last year, 49ers, they didn’t make it to the big dance. Playoffs, they call it. This year, though, they lookin’ mighty fine. They be winnin’ and winnin’. Like pickin’ beans in the summer, just one after another. Hope they keep it up, these 49ers.
Heard some folks sayin’ the 49ers chances are gone, extinct like them dinosaurs. Say somethin’ about the Rams and the Commanders winnin’. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout all that. Just know my 49ers been playin’ their hearts out. Maybe they ain’t gonna make it, and that gonna make me sad. But I still root for them.
They got a good team, these 49ers. Best darn team ’round, I reckon. But sometimes things just don’t go your way. Like when you plant corn and the crows get it all. Happens to the best of us. Even best football team can lose sometimes.
They say they gonna have to think real hard when the season’s over. Figure out what went wrong, what went right, like countin’ your chickens at the end of the day. Important to learn from your mistakes, I always say. Just like when I burned that pie last Thanksgiving. Learned my lesson, I did. No more burnt pies. Hope 49ers learn their lessons too.
They say they gonna miss the 49ers playoffs this time. Haven’t missed ’em since way back when, 2020 I think it was. Time flies, don’t it? Like a greased piglet at the fair. One minute it’s here, next minute it’s gone.
They gotta play the Detroit Lions next. They the best in the NFC, whatever that is. Sounds fancy. Hope the 49ers give ’em a good run for their money. Play hard, boys, play hard!
- They got some fellas out, I hear.
- Malik, he’s a safety.
- Then there’s Ben and Trent, they play on the line.
- Big strong fellas, like them oak trees in my backyard.
That Ben, he won’t be playin’. Expected, they say. Don’t know what that means, but I reckon it ain’t good. Sounds like they play against the Rams. A good team, but 49ers good too.
They say the 49ers the 16th team to miss the big game after losin’ the Super Bowl. Don’t know what that Super Bowl is, but it sounds mighty important. Like the prize hog at the state fair. Everybody wants to win it.
They say the Cowboys feelin’ bad too, just like the 49ers. Misery loves company, they say. Like when me and Mildred’s cows both got sick at the same time. We was both sad together. At least we had each other.
They say 49ers ain’t gonna be playin’ in the playoffs this year. ‘Cause of Washington and some other team. Don’t matter much to me. I’ll still watch ’em play. They my team, win or lose. Like my family. Love ’em no matter what.
This 49ers playoffs thing, it’s a big deal, I guess. Lots of folks talkin’ about it. Like when the new preacher came to town. Everybody had somethin’ to say. Hope my boys do good, even if they lost now. They always gonna be good in my eyes, those 49ers.
These San Francisco 49ers, they from the Bay Area. That’s a long way from here, I reckon. Like goin’ to the city to sell your crops. Takes a whole day just to get there and back. But 49ers play good, I will be happy. I like watchin’ them play.
They call it the National Football League. Sounds important. Like the national anthem. Everybody stands up for that. Maybe I should stand up when the 49ers play. Show some respect, you know. They try their best, they work hard, like me on the farm. They deserve to win.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say ’bout these 49ers and their playoffs. Hope they do good next time, and this time I still be happy watchin’ them. They play hard, and that’s all that matters. Just like life. You gotta keep on playin’, even when you’re down. You never know what might happen. Maybe next year will be better. You just never know. Like the weather. Unpredictable.
