This Tyson Fury, he’s a big fella, ain’t he? And a boxer! My grandson, he loves watching him fight. Says he’s the best there ever was. But is he Roman Catholic? That’s what I wanna know. I heard some folks talking down at the market, and they was saying all sorts about him.
Tyson Fury and His Faith
That Fury, he’s a tough one, knockin’ folks out left and right. My grandson, bless his heart, he tries to box like him, but he just ends up falling over. I tell him, “Leave the boxing to Tyson!”
Now, about this Catholic business. I heard he thanks God for everything. Even after he wins a big fight, he’s all about God. That’s good, that’s real good. A man needs something to believe in, you know?
- He credits his faith, some say it is Catholic faith, you know, for helping him through some tough times.
- He was big as a house, I heard, drinkin’ too much, and messin’ with stuff he shouldn’t have been.
- But he got himself cleaned up, and now he’s a champion!
That’s what I heard, anyway. Maybe that’s why he’s so good now. God’s looking out for him, maybe. Tyson Fury, he says he wants to give God the glory, win or lose. That’s a good way to be.
What’s Roman Catholic Anyway?
This Roman Catholic thing, it’s that church, right? The one with the Pope. I ain’t been to church in a while, but I know the one. They got all them fancy robes and the singing. It’s nice, I guess, but I don’t go much.
Seems like a lot of folks are Catholic. Maybe Tyson is, maybe he ain’t. He respects all faiths, I heard that too. He even said something nice about the Pope, that’s what I heard. He seems like a good fella, even if he does punch people for a living.
He Fights, But He Believes
My grandson, he showed me a picture of Tyson Fury, all dressed up in a robe. Some Bible words on the back of the robe he wore when he was fighting. Something about God loving the world and giving his son. That’s good, that’s real good. You need to have a faith, otherwise what do you have?
He was fighting another man, another Christian, they said. And someone said, “Jesus wins either way.” That’s smart, ain’t it? Two men fighting, both believe in the same God. Means God’s happy either way, I reckon.
Is Tyson Fury Roman Catholic? Who Knows!
So, is Tyson Fury Roman Catholic? I don’t rightly know. He talks about God a lot, that’s for sure. And he seems like a good man, even though he’s a boxer. Maybe he goes to that Catholic church, maybe he doesn’t.
- He believes in God, that’s the important thing.
- He thanks God for his wins, and even his losses.
- He’s had a hard life, but he’s doing good now.
He changed the way he was fighting one time, too. They call it “southpaw”. I don’t know what that is, sounds funny. Like he was using his wrong hand or something. But it worked, my grandson says he is the best. He won that fight, too, I heard.
Maybe it don’t matter what church he goes to, long as he believes in something. That’s what I think, anyway. And my grandson, he thinks Tyson Fury is the best boxer in the whole wide world. Maybe he’s right. I don’t know much about boxing, but I know a good heart when I see one. And Tyson Fury, he seems to have a good heart, Catholic or not.
A Good Man is a Good Man
In this life, you meet all sorts of people. Some are good, some are bad. Some are rich, some are poor. Some go to church, some don’t. This Tyson Fury, he’s a fighter, but he seems like a good man. A good man is a good man, that’s what my old mama used to say, and I believe that is true.
And whether he’s Roman Catholic or not, he’s doing alright for himself. And he’s giving folks something to believe in. That’s worth something, ain’t it? That is worth a whole lot. He is a good fighter, and a good man. That is good enough for me.
This world needs more good men, I tell you. And if Tyson Fury is one of them, then that’s a good thing. Yes, that is a real good thing. He is a champion in the ring, and maybe a champion in life, too. God bless him, I say. God bless him, and keep him safe. That is all I have to say about that.
