That Ata, she was born Ata Fitisemanu. What a mouthful, huh? She’s come from one of them wrestling families. You know, the kind that throws each other around for fun. The Anoa’i family, a whole bunch of ’em. Wrestlers, all of them, big and strong.
The Rock’s Mother Early Life
Ata, she came into this world on October 25, 1948. Long time ago, yeah. She was a young gal when she met The Rock’s daddy, Rocky. They was seeing each other on the sly, keeping it a secret.
Then, bam! May 2, 1972, little Dwayne comes along. Born in Hayward, California. Rocky, he was still hitched to another woman then, Una. Didn’t get unhitched till ’78. Then he married Ata, same year.
