Hey everyone, I’ve been messing around with this “put forth” crossword thing lately, and it’s been quite a ride. Let me tell you about it.
So, I started my little adventure by just searching for “put forth crossword” online. I mean, that’s the most obvious first step, right? I stumbled upon this site that claimed to have 30 answers. 30! I was like, “Okay, this is gonna be interesting.”
I dug deeper and found another place that had a whopping 165 solutions for “put forth.” Can you believe that? The longest one was “COMMEND TO ATTENTION” with 18 letters, and the shortest was “AIR” with just 3. My mind was kind of blown at this point.
Then I noticed something about the clues. There was this one that said, “Put forth last seen in Universal puzzle.” It turns out there were like 40 possible answers for that one. 40! I spent hours just browsing through them all. Another one, “Put forth effort last seen in Commuter puzzle,” also had 40 answers. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest.
- I found this one clue, “Put forth effort,” that showed up in something called the “Commuter puzzle.”
- There were 40 different possible answers for it.
- The shortest answer was just 3 letters, while the longest was 18 letters!
I also learned that these crossword puzzles get harder throughout the week. The easiest one is on Monday, and the hardest is on Saturday. And apparently, there’s a bigger one on Sunday that’s in The New York Times Magazine. I might have to check that out sometime.
I even found a pack of tutorial cryptic crosswords that are supposed to teach you step-by-step. One of the clues was just “put forth,” and the definition was “exert.” It also said something about bringing force to something, which I thought was pretty cool.
What I Did
I decided to compile all the answers I found. I sorted them by length and made a list. Then, I started trying to solve some of these puzzles myself. I’m not gonna lie, it was tough at first. But, I kept at it, and I actually started to get the hang of it. I managed to solve a few of them, which felt pretty awesome.
So yeah, that’s my journey with the “put forth” crossword thing. It’s been a lot of searching, a lot of reading, and a lot of trial and error. But, I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve had some fun along the way. Who knew crossword puzzles could be so interesting?
