Okay, so I decided to tackle the “Industrialist” thing in Starfield today. You know, the one where you gotta make 500 resources from outposts? Yeah, that one. It sounded simple enough, but man, it took some doing.
First, I scouted around for a good spot to set up shop. I flew all over, checking out different planets and moons. I wanted to find somewhere that had a bunch of resources I could extract. It took a while, but I finally settled on this moon with a ton of iron and some other useful stuff.
Next, I started building my outpost. I dropped down a habitat, a power source, and a bunch of extractors. I made sure to connect everything up and got those extractors pumping. It was pretty cool watching them work, pulling resources out of the ground. Then I set up storage containers to hold all the goods. I had to make a few trips back and forth to my ship to get all the materials I needed, but eventually, I had a decent little operation going.
Then came the waiting game. I kicked back and let those extractors do their thing. I explored the moon a bit, did some other missions, and just generally killed time. Every so often, I’d check back on my outpost to see how things were progressing. The storage containers started filling up, and I knew I was on the right track.
But here’s the thing, I didn’t realize how slow it would be. Also, I learned somewhere online that I could speed things up. Some guy said to sell stuff on Venus, sit next to the vendor and wait. He said one hour locally equals 100 hours everywhere else. I thought I’d give it a try.
So I did that. Flew to Venus, sold my stuff, and sat in that chair. Time was definitely flying, but my storage wasn’t filling up any quicker. It was a bust. I ended up just leaving my game running while I did other stuff in real life. I figured I’d let those extractors work while I was busy. And you know what? It worked!
Eventually, I came back to my game, and boom, I had way more than 500 resources. The “Industrialist” achievement popped up, and I felt pretty darn accomplished. It wasn’t the most exciting thing I’ve ever done in a game, but it was satisfying to finally get it done. Turns out, patience is key, I guess. And maybe don’t trust everything you read online about speeding up time. Or at least, it didn’t work for me.
- Built an outpost.
- Placed extractors.
- Waited for resources.
- Tried to speed up time.
- Failed to speed up time.
- Left the game running.
- Earned the achievement!
So yeah, that’s my story of becoming an “Industrialist” in Starfield. It’s not rocket science, but it does take some time and effort. If you’re going for it, just be prepared to wait. A lot.
