Alright, so I gotta tell you about this “Egg Hunt” thing I tried out in MLB The Show 24. It’s kinda like those Easter egg hunts we did as kids, but, you know, it’s all digital and stuff. I figured, why not? I’m a big fan of the game, and it sounded like a fun little side quest.
So, I booted up the game and jumped into this Egg Hunt program. The deal is, there are these 10 eggs hidden all over the place in different game modes. You find them by doing specific tasks, and each egg gets you some kind of reward. Sounds simple enough, right?
I started poking around, trying to figure out where to even begin. The game gives you some clues, but they’re kinda vague. Like, they tell you what you gotta do, but not exactly where to do it. So, I spent a good chunk of time just experimenting in different modes, seeing what triggered what.
One of the eggs, for example, I had to hit a triple. I hopped into Diamond Dynasty, thinking that was a safe bet. Played a few games, smacked a few balls around. You gotta actually hit it, though. Errors or fielders choice don’t count, which I found out the hard way.
- First Attempt: Played a regular online match. Got a few hits, but no triples.
- Second Attempt: Switched to a single-player mode against the CPU. Still no luck.
- Third Attempt: Finally got that triple! I smashed one into the right-center gap, and that little icon popped up. Egg get!
After getting a triple, I felt pretty good. I was like, “Okay, I got this.” But let me tell you, some of these other challenges were a real pain. I spent hours on some, just grinding away, trying to complete these random objectives. And the rewards? Some were cool, like this 91 overall Christian Yelich card I snagged. But others were just, meh.
All in all
It was a mixed bag, this Egg Hunt. Kinda fun at first, but it got old pretty quick. I mean, I like a good challenge, but some of this stuff felt like busywork. If you’re a hardcore completionist, you might enjoy it. But for me, it was a decent distraction, nothing more. I’m just glad I finally got that Yelich card, though. That made it kinda worth it, I guess. If they do this next year, maybe they’ll make it a little more interesting. We’ll see. Anyway, that’s my story about the Egg Hunt. Hope you found it at least a little entertaining. Back to the regular grind now!
