Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this new game, Zenless Zone Zero, or ZZZ for short. A bunch of people online keep talking about “dupes” and whether or not you need them, especially for this character Ellen. Now, I’m not some expert gamer, but I figured I’d try to figure this whole thing out and share what I found.
First off, what the heck is a “dupe”? Turns out, it’s just a fancy word for getting the same character twice when you’re pulling for them in the game. It’s like those gacha mechanics in other games where you’re not guaranteed to get what you want. I spent some time pulling on the banner, hoping to get Ellen – she seemed pretty cool, and everyone says she does a ton of damage.
The pulling system in this game is kinda like other games I’ve played. You got this “pity” thing where you’re guaranteed a good pull after a certain number of tries. From what I experienced, it seems like after 90 pulls, you’re guaranteed something good, but it might not be what you want – there’s a 50/50 chance. Then, if you don’t get what you want, your next big pull is guaranteed to be the character on the banner. I actually got lucky and pulled Ellen on my first try!
Now, about those dupes. Apparently, if you get a character again, it can make them stronger. It’s like “Constellations” in that other game, Genshin Impact. I got Ellen again later on, and yeah, it did seem to make her a bit more powerful. So I guess they’re not totally useless. But are they absolutely necessary? That’s what I wanted to find out.
I started playing through the game with just the free characters they give you – Anby, Nicole, Billy, and Ben. I figured, if I can beat the game with just these guys, then maybe you don’t really need dupes. I spent hours grinding, trying different team combinations, and seeing how far I could get. Honestly, it wasn’t easy, especially in the later levels. Those “endgame” parts were a real pain.
After all that, here’s what I think: Ellen is a beast! She really does do a ton of damage, and she’s fun to play. As for dupes? They’re helpful, for sure. But do you absolutely need them? I don’t think so. I mean, I managed to get pretty far with just the free characters. It was tough, but doable.
My Final Thoughts
- Ellen is great. If you get her, awesome.
- Dupes are nice but not a must-have. You can probably get by without them, but it’ll be harder.
- The free characters are okay. You can use them, but be prepared for a challenge.
So, that’s my experience with this whole “dupes” thing in ZZZ. Hopefully, this helps someone out there who’s just as confused as I was. Just remember, it’s a game, so have fun! Don’t stress too much about getting every single character and maxing them out. Just enjoy the ride.
