Alright, folks, let’s talk about this Ansbach questline thing in that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree game. I spent a good chunk of my weekend trying to figure this out, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a doozy. I’m going to walk you through what I did, step by step, so hopefully, you don’t have to pull your hair out like I almost did.
First off, I bumped into this Sir Ansbach guy. You know, one of those many characters they sprinkle around in these games. This was after I spent hours exploring around and beating some enemies. I was just walking around, and then I met him.
Find Sir Ansbach and Talk to Him.
-
So, the first real step was to chat with Ansbach. He had some interesting things to say, but it wasn’t super clear what I was supposed to do next. He mentioned something about this Freyja character. I made a mental note to keep an eye out for her.
Find Redmane Freyja and Talk to Her
-
Next up, I went on a bit of a hunt for Redmane Freyja. I wandered around the map, battled a few more of those weird creatures, and finally found her. We had a little chat, and it became obvious that she and Ansbach had some history. She asked me to deliver a message for her. You know, be a messenger. So I said, why not. This is what she told me. I just kept that in my mind.
Go Back to Ansbach and Tell Him About Freyja
-
Okay, here’s where it started to get tricky. I went back to Ansbach and told him what Freyja had said. I think this is a really important step, ’cause I read online that if you skip it, things can go sideways. Always tell him about Freyja.
Give Ansbach the Scroll
-
After I told him about Freyja, I remembered I had this scroll thingy. I don’t even remember where I picked it up, to be honest. But the game prompted me to give it to Ansbach, so I did. He seemed pretty interested in it, and this is where things started to move along. I gave it to him, and he was like, oh, this is a game-changer. But, he did not tell me what it was for. I just did what he asked.
Get a Letter from Ansbach
-
Once I handed over the scroll, Ansbach gave me a letter. Another item to carry around. I felt like a delivery boy at this point. But hey, that’s how these games go, right? You never know when something might be important. He gave me the letter right after I gave him that scroll.
And that’s basically it. After I got the letter, the questline seemed to wrap up. At least for now. I’m not sure if there’s more to it later in the game, but I’ll keep you all posted if I find anything else.
So, to sum it up: find Ansbach, find Freyja, tell Ansbach about Freyja, give him the scroll, and get the letter. It’s a bit of a runaround, but that’s what worked for me. I tried other things, like giving him the scroll first, but that did not work. So I reloaded the game and did it in order. This is how I finally made it.
Hope this helps some of you out there. Happy gaming!
