Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my golf gear lately, trying to get everything dialed in just right, and it’s been quite a journey. I’m calling this little experiment “Adam Scott WITB” because, well, I was inspired by the pro, Adam Scott. I wanted to see if I could improve my game by trying some of the stuff he uses.
First off, I started with the driver. Now, I’ve always been a TaylorMade guy, but I saw that Adam Scott switched to a TaylorMade Qi10. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I got my hands on one. I took it to the range a few times, and I have to say, it felt pretty good. The sound at impact is really satisfying, and I noticed my drives were going a bit farther than usual. It wasn’t a huge difference, but enough to make me think I was onto something.
Next, I looked at the irons. I read somewhere that Adam Scott had some custom Miura irons made, the AS-1 irons, with his input. I was intrigued. I’ve always liked the look of Miura irons, so I decided to try a set. Now, I didn’t get the exact ones Adam Scott uses, but I found a set that felt good in my hands. I spent a few days practicing with them, and I really liked the feel. They felt solid, and I felt like I had more control over my shots. I wasn’t hitting the ball like a pro, but I definitely felt more consistent.
I also tried to change up my putter. I knew Adam Scott used a broomstick putter in the past when he won the Masters. I’m not quite ready for a broomstick, but I did try a few different putters to see if I could find one that felt right. I tried a couple of different styles and weights. I didn’t see a dramatic improvement in my putting, but I did find one that felt a bit more comfortable than my old one.
Here’s a list of what I played around with:
- Driver: TaylorMade Qi10 (inspired by Adam Scott)
- Irons: A set of Miura irons (not the exact AS-1 model, but similar)
- Putter: Tried a few different models, settled on one that felt comfortable
After all this tinkering, I played a few rounds to see how it all came together. I can’t say I suddenly started playing like Adam Scott, but I did see some improvements. My drives were a bit longer and straighter, thanks to the Qi10. My iron play felt more consistent, and I felt more confident with the Miura irons. My putting was still a work in progress, but the new putter felt a little better.
Overall, this whole “Adam Scott WITB” experiment was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about my own game and the equipment I use. I realized that even small changes can make a difference, and it’s important to find what feels right for you. I’m not saying everyone should copy Adam Scott’s bag, but it’s definitely worth experimenting to find what works best for your game.
This whole experience got me thinking about how the pros fine-tune their equipment. I mean, Adam Scott’s had a pretty impressive career, winning the Masters and a bunch of other tournaments. He’s been on, like, 11 International Presidents Cup teams! It’s crazy to think about all the little adjustments he’s made to his gear over the years to get to that level. It just goes to show how important it is to find the right equipment and really dial it in.
I’m going to keep tweaking things here and there, but for now, I’m pretty happy with the progress I’ve made. Maybe one day I’ll even get a custom set of irons like Adam Scott! A guy can dream, right?
