Okay, so, I wanted to talk a little bit about Max Homa’s parents, John Homa and Bonnie Milstein. You know, Max Homa, the pro golfer? Yeah, that guy.
First off, I started to digging around online because, to be honest, I didn’t know much about his folks. Turns out, his dad, John, is actually an acting teacher. Pretty cool, right? I mean, not what you’d expect from a golfer’s dad, but it’s different.
Then I found out that his mom, Bonnie, she’s an office manager for some produce market. Seems like a regular job, you know, nothing too flashy. It’s interesting to see the different backgrounds people come from.
So, I kept reading about how Max got into golf in the first place. It seems like his dad, John, was just a casual golfer. You know, the type who hits the course on weekends for fun. And that’s how Max got hooked, too. I guess he just followed in his dad’s footsteps, literally.
It also said that Max wasn’t recruited to his preferred college choice. Must have been tough at that time, but he made it, right? It reminded me to never give up.
Some Fun Facts
- Good Luck Charms: Carries two coins – one from 1991 (his wife’s birth year) and one from 2018. I think it’s kind of sweet, shows he’s a family guy.
- Amateur Career: Represented Southern California on Junior America’s Cup team in 2008. Seems like he’s been at it for a while.
After Max’s win on Sunday, I was really impressed and start to think about how his father influnced him. Anyway, it got me thinking about how parents influence their kids, you know? Whether it’s golf or acting or just working a regular 9-to-5, everyone gets their start somewhere. And for Max Homa, it seems like it all started with a dad who just liked to play golf on the weekends and a mom who was an office manager. Pretty cool story, if you ask me.
But hey, that’s just my two cents. Maybe you guys know more about this than I do. If so, feel free to chime in.
