Okay, so I gotta talk about this Texas Longhorns depth chart thing, ’cause it’s been on my mind lately. Let me tell you, it’s been a journey trying to figure this whole thing out.
First off, I started by digging into last season’s team. These guys were solid, like a brick wall. And guess what? Four out of the five starters are coming back! We’ve got Banks holding down the left tackle spot, Hayden Conner at left guard, Jake Majors in the center, and Cameron Williams on the right tackle. That’s a seriously experienced line we got there.
Then, I looked at the bigger picture. Texas has 15 starters returning in total. That is a lot. Only a few teams have more.
Next up, the quarterback situation. Man, this one’s a doozy. It’s between Maalik Murphy and Arch Manning. People are saying they’re pretty much even. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who comes out on top.
Receivers?
- I checked out who’s catching the passes. Xavier Worthy is the main guy, a junior. He caught 60 passes last year.
- Then there’s Jordan Whittington, a senior. He caught 50 passes. These two are gonna be a tough combo to stop.
Another thing that caught my eye was the freshmen. Nine of them burned their redshirts last year, which means they played more than four games and used up a year of eligibility. That shows the coaches really believed in these young guys.
And finally, I took a look at the top 10 returning players. These guys are gonna be big time. Some of them might even go pro, that’s how good they are.
So, yeah, that’s basically my whole process of figuring out the Longhorns depth chart. It took some time, and a lot of reading, but I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on it now. It’s gonna be interesting to see how these guys do this season, that’s for sure. I can’t wait! I hope to see they get good results in this year!
