Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another story from my life. Today’s a bit heavier, a bit more personal, but I think it’s important to share. It’s about C.J. Stroud, the NFL quarterback, and why his dad’s locked up.
So, I started digging into this because, like many of you, I heard bits and pieces but didn’t really know the full story. I went online, started Googling, and found a bunch of articles. It’s kinda all over the place, but here’s what I pieced together.
C.J.’s dad, Coleridge Bernard Stroud III, yeah, that’s a mouthful, he got into some serious trouble when C.J. was just 13. We’re talking carjacking, kidnapping, robbery… the whole nine yards. He pleaded guilty and ended up in prison. Man, can you imagine being 13 and dealing with that?
What happened after his father was imprisoned?
- After that, it was all on C.J.’s mom, Kimberly, to raise him and his three siblings.
- I read that they struggled, like, really struggled. They almost lost everything.
- The whole family was thrown into a financial hole. Man, it was rough.
This whole thing, it really shaped C.J., you know? He didn’t let it break him, though. He channeled all that into football and, well, you see where he is now. A starting quarterback in the NFL. That’s some serious resilience.
I also found out that C.J. is a man of faith. He always thanks God in his interviews. “First and foremost I’ve got to thank my Lord Savior Jesus Christ,” that’s what he always says. And his mom, she’s a big part of why he’s so grounded.
What does the “CJ” in C. J. Stroud stand for?
Another thing I stumbled upon is his name. The “C.J.” stands for Coleridge Bernard Stroud IV. It’s a family name, passed down from his great-grandfather. But what exactly C.J. means, I still don’t know.
This whole thing, it just makes you think, right? About how life throws curveballs, how people deal with adversity, and how your past doesn’t have to define your future. C.J.’s story is a tough one, but it’s also inspiring. It’s a reminder that even when things are at their worst, you can still rise above.
Anyway, that’s what I found out about C.J. Stroud and his dad. It’s a heavy story, but it’s real life. Let me know what you guys think in the comments.
