Okay, here’s my sharing today:
So, I was watching the LPGA tour the other day, and Nelly Korda was just killing it, as usual. And I got to thinking, who’s the guy always there with her, carrying her bag and giving her advice? I mean, we always see the golfers, but the caddies are super important too, right? So I started digging around to find out who Nelly Korda’s caddie is.
First, I just did a simple search about “who is nelly korda’s caddie”. Turns out, his name is Jason McDede. Apparently, they’ve been a team for a while now. I was found that he’s been with her through thick and thin, even when she won the gold medal in Tokyo! How cool is that?
Then, I found some more about Jason. It looks like he’s a pretty experienced caddie. I mean, Nelly’s not just any golfer, she’s one of the best in the world. She won her first LPGA Tour win when she was only 20, represented Team USA at the Solheim Cup three times, and even claimed an Olympic gold medal. And this guy, Jason, has been there for it all. I guess he know what to do at that time.
- Nelly Korda won her first LPGA Tour at 20-years-old.
- Nelly Korda represented Team USA at the Solheim Cup three times.
- Nelly Korda claimed an Olympic gold medal.
- Jason McDede has been with her during these glories.
And I also saw a little tidbit about Nelly’s coach, a guy named Jamie Mulligan. She had worked with previously. I think they must be a pretty tight-knit team to have achieved so much success.
Oh, and get this, I also read about another caddie, Michelle Simpson, who works for Angel Yin. Michelle Simpson has been an expert on the course for a long time and picked up golf in FL. Seems like caddying is a serious business! You gotta be experienced and know the game inside and out.
Anyway, I just thought it was interesting to learn a bit more about the people behind the scenes. We always see the golfers, but the caddies and coaches play a huge role too. So next time you’re watching golf, take a moment to appreciate the caddies too! They’re the unsung heroes of the sport.
