Okay, so the other day I got it into my head that I wanted to mess around with this old boat, the Brave Goose. Yeah, the one from way back in 1972. It’s a real classic, a 35-meter motor yacht built by Tough Bros. I’ve always been a bit of a boat nerd, so I was itching to see what this thing was all about.
First thing I did was try to dig up as much info as I could online. Just basic stuff, you know? I found a few websites that had some details. Turns out, this baby’s got a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, which is pretty cool. And she can hit a top speed of 11 knots. Not exactly a speed demon, but hey, she’s an oldie. The engine, it’s some twin-screw system.
I managed to find some photos and even a couple of videos online. It was really cool to see the Brave Goose in action, even if it was just on a screen. It definitely made me want to see it in person even more. I wanted to get a feel for the layout, see the cabins, check out the deck, that kind of thing.
Then I tried to find some reviews from people who had actually been on board. This yacht is really a hot potato! You know, just to get an idea of what it was like to actually be on the thing. I found a few tidbits here and there on some yacht forums. Mostly stuff about the yacht’s history and some technical specs, but nothing too juicy. It’s really hard to find any reviews, I think I need to find some professional guys who have been on it.
Looking for real experiences
Here’s what I’m hoping to do next:
- Track down more photos and videos. The more visuals, the better. I wanna get a really good sense of the yacht’s interior and exterior.
- Find some firsthand accounts. I’m gonna keep scouring those yacht forums and maybe even reach out to some yacht brokers or enthusiasts to see if anyone has any personal experiences they can share.
- Maybe, just maybe, try to see it in person. I know it’s a long shot, but if I can figure out where the Brave Goose is currently located, I might try to arrange a visit. It would be the ultimate experience.
This whole thing has turned into a bit of an obsession, but it’s been a blast so far. It’s like being a detective, piecing together the story of this old yacht. I’ll keep you guys updated on my progress. Who knows what other cool stuff I’ll uncover about the Brave Goose?
