Today, I went to see the Atlanta Braves game. I was so excited! I got there early and found my seat. The stadium was buzzing with people, all wearing Braves gear, just like me. We were all pumped for the game to start.
But then, it started to rain. At first, it was just a little drizzle, so the game went on. People pulled out their umbrellas and ponchos, and nobody seemed to mind too much. We were all there for the Braves, rain or shine!
Then, the rain got heavier. And heavier. I saw the umpires gather together. They were talking and looking up at the sky. After a few minutes, they made an announcement. The game was going to be delayed because of the rain.
The players ran off the field, and everyone started to wonder what would happen next. The big screens in the stadium said the delay would be at least 30 minutes. 30 minutes! That’s a long time to wait when you’re soaking wet and just want to watch some baseball.
Some people decided to leave, but not me. I was determined to stay and see the game, whenever it started again. I chatted with the people around me, and we all shared our snacks and made the best of it. It was actually kind of fun, in a weird way. We were all in it together, you know?
Finally, after what felt like forever, the rain stopped. The grounds crew came out and started working on the field, getting it ready for play again. It took a while, but eventually, the umpires came back out, and then the players.
The crowd went wild! We were all so happy that the game was going to continue. And you know what? The Braves won! It was a great game, and even though we got a little wet, it was totally worth it. I’ll never forget that day – the day I braved the rain delay and saw the Braves win.
Here are some details I recorded during the rain delay:
- The rain started lightly at first, then got much heavier.
- The umpires delayed the game after about 20 minutes of heavy rain.
- The delay lasted for over an hour.
- Many people left, but a lot of us stayed to wait it out.
- The grounds crew worked hard to get the field ready after the rain stopped.
- The Braves ended up winning the game.
Takeaway
It was an adventure! I learned that even when things don’t go as planned, you can still have a good time if you have a good attitude. Plus, it’s always worth it to stick around and support your team, no matter what the weather is like.
