So, I’ve been following this dude, Salt Papi, on social media for a while now. You probably know him, he’s that YouTuber and TikTok guy who suddenly decided to put on some boxing gloves. His real name is Nathaniel Bustamante, but everyone calls him Salt Papi.
I started watching his boxing journey from his first fight. He went up against some dude named Halal Ham in an exhibition match in early 2022. It wasn’t a pro fight, but it was a start. He ended up winning that one by unanimous decision.
Then, in August 2022, he stepped into the ring again. I don’t remember who he fought, to be honest, but I do remember watching it. He was doing pretty good, showing off some skills he picked up.
I continued to keep up with him. I know that he got into the ring a total of four times. He’s won three out of those four fights, with two ending in knockouts. I was pretty impressed, I gotta say. He only lost one fight, and to see a guy go from making funny videos to actually winning boxing matches, it’s something else. I think the dude was a nurse before, so this is a whole new world for him. I heard he’s got some serious cash now, like 1 or 2 million. Not bad for a career change, right?
I watched him fight on Saturday. I don’t remember who he was fighting, but I tuned in for sure. It’s crazy to think that he’s only 29 and already made a name for himself in the boxing world.
I’m not sure what’s next for Salt Papi, but I’ll definitely be watching. It’s not every day you see someone jump from internet fame to the boxing ring and actually do well. I mean he did really good!
