Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this Ohio Bobcats depth chart thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I started out just wanting to see who was who on the team, you know, the usual fan stuff.
First, I scoured the internet, trying to find some solid info. I landed on the official athletics website – seemed like the most legit place to start. It had all the usual stuff like player names, positions, and a few stats here and there.
- Started digging through the roster. It looked like they had the basics covered. I had to write it all down by hand at first!
- Checked out some other sites, you know, just to see what others were saying. Some forums had discussions about the team, but nothing too concrete on the depth chart.
- Compared everything I found, then realized I had to focus on the official site.
I got a little ambitious and decided to organize the players by position – offense, defense, and even special teams. It seemed simple enough at first, but then you realize there are so many layers to it. Like, who’s the starting quarterback? Okay, got that. But who’s the backup? And then who’s behind that guy? It kept going!
Then came the actual “building” part.
I grabbed a big piece of paper and started mapping it all out. I wrote down the main positions and then penciled in the players’ names underneath, trying to figure out the order based on playing time, stats, and whatever buzz I could find from the coaches’ interviews. It was messy, to say the least.
After a while, I figured I should probably get this thing digital. So, I fired up my spreadsheet program and started transferring everything over. It was a bit tedious, but it felt good to have it all in one place. I even color-coded it! Yeah, I went full nerd on this. Also, I noticed the official site uses 2024-25 in their title, so I did the same.
Anyway, I finally got something that resembles a depth chart. It’s not perfect, and it’ll probably change throughout the season, but it’s a start. It’s more than I had before, and I actually learned a lot about the team in the process.
I guess the whole point of this is that sometimes you just gotta dive in and do the work yourself. You might not find exactly what you’re looking for online, but if you’re willing to put in the time, you can create something pretty cool. And who knows, maybe it’ll help someone else out there who’s just as curious as I was. Or maybe I’m just a crazy football fan. Either way, it was a fun project!
