Okay, so, a few days ago, I got this idea to check out how far these professional women golfers can hit the ball. I mean, I play a bit myself, just for fun, and I was curious about the average drive distance in the LPGA. So, I decided to do a little digging.
First, I jumped online and started poking around. I found a bunch of stuff about golf club distances for different types of players – beginners, average folks, women, and seniors. And then I found some stuff which is about LPGA. It said that the LPGA courses are about 6.4k. That’s not too far from what I play with my buddies on weekends.
Then, I started looking into the actual numbers for the LPGA players. I found this report, and it had all sorts of stats. I also found that most pro women golfers drive about 257.2 yards. That’s pretty impressive, right?
I kept digging, and I found out that over the past five or ten years, most LPGA players have actually been hitting the ball further and further. They’ve added some serious distance to their drives!
So then I got sidetracked a bit (it happens) and started looking at how age affects driving distance. I found some numbers based on a bunch of drives from regular golfers. The data was all broken down by age, which I thought was pretty interesting.
- I started checking out a bunch of different websites and forums.
- Then I compared the numbers to my own stats.
- And I discussed it with my golf buddies.
So, yeah, that’s basically what I did. I just got curious, started looking around online, and one thing led to another. It was a fun little research project, and I learned a few things about how far the pros can hit the ball. Pretty cool, huh?
