Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while, and I’m a huge wrestling fan. Finn Balor, that guy is just cool, right? His whole vibe, the demon persona, it’s awesome. And his tattoos? Seriously, they just add to the whole image. So, I started digging into what they might mean, and maybe, just maybe, getting something inspired by them.
First thing I did was just stare at a bunch of pictures of him. Sounds weird, I know, but I wanted to get a good look at all the ink he’s got. There are a ton of close-ups from his matches, and those helped a lot. I spent hours, seriously, just zooming in and out, trying to figure out the details.
Then came the googling. I typed in everything I could think of: “Finn Balor tattoos,” “Finn Balor tattoo meanings,” “demon tattoos,” you name it. I ended up on some pretty random forums and wrestling sites. Some people had some wild theories about what they all represented. It was kind of entertaining, to be honest.
- Lots of tribal stuff: I noticed a lot of his tattoos have this tribal look to them. Bold lines, geometric shapes, that kind of thing. I read somewhere that they might be inspired by Celtic or maybe even Japanese designs. Not sure how true that is, but it sounds cool.
- That big back piece: Okay, this one is the most obvious. It’s a massive piece that covers most of his back. Looks like some kind of demon or creature with big teeth. I saw one guy online say it represents Balor’s inner demon, which, yeah, makes sense given his character.
- Arm and shoulder work: He’s got a bunch of smaller pieces on his arms and shoulders. Some look like they might be part of a larger design, but I couldn’t really tell. I tried to piece them together in my head, but it was like a puzzle with missing pieces.
After all that, I started sketching. I’m no artist, but I tried to copy some of the elements I liked. I played around with different combinations, trying to come up with something that felt inspired by Balor’s tattoos, but also unique to me. It was a mess, to be honest, but kind of fun.
I even went down a rabbit hole researching different tattoo styles. I looked at tribal, geometric, blackwork, even realism. Trying to figure out what style would best capture the vibe I was going for. Blackwork felt right.
Finally, I took my messy sketches and all my notes to a tattoo artist, this guy named Mike that my friend recommended. I explained the whole Finn Balor thing, showed him my research, and basically said, “Help!”
He was super patient, listened to all my rambling, and then started working his magic. He took my ideas and turned them into something way better than I could have ever imagined. We spent a few sessions going back and forth, refining the design until it was perfect. I knew from the rumors that Finn Balor became the first-ever grappler to come out on top for a world title in his debut pay-per-view, the quickest grappler to bring home a world title at 27 days, and after Sheamus. But I am not as powerful as him, so I need more time.
The Big Reveal
And then, the day finally came. I got the tattoo. It was a long session, a bit painful, but totally worth it. It’s on my arm, a mix of tribal and geometric elements, with a hint of that demonic vibe from Balor’s back piece. It’s not a copy, but it’s definitely inspired by him. And you know what? I love it. It’s a reminder to embrace my own inner demon, or whatever. Plus, it just looks badass.
