Okay, so I’ve been digging into the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, trying to figure out what their lineup is going to look like for the 2024 season. It’s a bit of a puzzle, you know, with players coming and going. Here’s how I went about it.
First, I started by grabbing the official roster from last year. That gave me a good base to work from. Then, I looked up who’s graduating or leaving for the NFL draft. Gotta know who’s not going to be around anymore, right?
Next, I dove into recruiting news. Who are the new hotshot high school players joining the team? These guys can shake things up. I also checked out the transfer portal situation. Sometimes experienced players switch schools, and that can make a big difference, too.
I made a big list of all the returning players, sorting them by position. Then, I started plugging in the new guys, trying to guess where they might fit based on what I could find about them – their skills, what position they played in high school, that kind of stuff.
- Quarterback: This was tricky. There are a couple of returning guys and one highly-rated recruit. It will be an interesting competition.
- Running Back: This spot seems pretty solid with two experienced players.
- Wide Receiver: A mix of veterans and some promising new guys.
- Offensive Line: There is some work to do here, but there are a few experienced players returning, plus some big recruits.
- Defensive Line: This is an area of strength with several key players returning.
- Linebackers: They lost a couple of starters, but there are some decent players ready to step up.
- Secondary: This is the biggest question mark. There is a lot of turnover here, and it will be interesting to see who emerges.
After all that, I ended up with a rough draft of what I think the Arkansas depth chart could look like in 2024. It’s not perfect, of course, because a lot can change between now and the start of the season.
It was a fun little project, and it got me even more excited for the upcoming college football season. Can’t wait to see how close I got it!
