Okay, so, I tried to do this thing today, this “vtuber leaked” thing. Sounds cool, right? Well, it kinda was, but it also kinda kicked my butt. Let me tell you about it.
First, I went and got this program called VSeeFace. I heard it’s pretty good for this kinda stuff. Downloaded it, installed it, no big deal. Then, I messed around with a model. I didn’t know what a model was, but I found something online and loaded it up. It was this anime girl, kinda cute, I guess.
Then came the hard part. I tried to get the face tracking working. Man, that was a pain. I turned on my webcam, I made sure the right camera was selected, and I moved my head around. Nothing. The model just sat there, staring blankly. I started to feel dumb.
I messed with the settings for like, an hour. Seriously. An hour. I clicked every button, I changed every slider. Still nothing. I was about to give up, honestly. I thought maybe my computer was too old, or maybe I just wasn’t cut out for this vtuber stuff. I felt really frustrated, to be honest.
Trying Again
But then, I took a break. I walked away from the computer, got a drink, and watched some videos of other people doing this. That’s when I realized I missed a step. A really, really dumb step. See, in VSeeFace, you have to actually start the tracking. There’s a button for it. I totally missed it.
So, I went back, fired up the program again, loaded the model, and, you guessed it, hit the “start tracking” button. And bam! It worked! The little anime girl started moving her head when I moved mine. Her eyes blinked when I blinked. It was actually pretty cool!
- Downloaded VSeeFace.
- Installed it.
- Found and loaded a model.
- Struggled with face tracking.
- Took a break.
- Figured out my mistake.
- Started the tracking.
- It worked!
I played around with it for a while, making silly faces and stuff. It’s not perfect, sometimes the tracking gets a little wonky, but it’s still pretty neat. It made me feel a little goofy, but also kinda like a tech wizard. I definitely got a kick out of finally figuring it out.
So, yeah, that was my adventure with this “vtuber leaked” thing. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. Lots of frustration, a little bit of triumph, and a whole lot of learning. I still have a lot to figure out, but hey, at least I got it working, right? It’s definitely not as easy as it looks in those videos, but now I have a little bit of an idea of what it takes. I feel a bit proud of myself, to be honest.
