Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Finn Balor Finisher” thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s a doozy. I’m talking about the Coup de Grâce, that crazy top-rope stomp he does. I wanted to see if I could, you know, kinda sorta get the hang of it. Not in a real match or anything, just messing around in my backyard.

Getting Started
First off, I watched a ton of videos of Balor doing it. I mean, hours of it. Just trying to get the image in my head. The way he leaps, the way he lands…it’s all gotta be just right. Then I set up a little something. We used some old mattresses and pillows, kind of like a makeshift crash pad.
- Watching Videos: I spent a good chunk of time just watching Finn Balor’s matches.
- Building the Crash Pad: This was crucial. No way was I gonna try this without some serious padding. We got creative, piled up everything soft we could find.
Practice Makes Perfect(ish)
Next, I started with baby steps. Just getting comfortable being up high. Climbing up on a ladder, getting the feel for that height. Then, jumping. Just little hops at first, landing on the crash pad. It felt weird, to be honest. Not like jumping normally, you know? You gotta aim, gotta think about where you’re gonna land.
- Ladder Work: I started with a low ladder, then moved to a higher one. The goal was to get comfortable with the height, little by little.
- Small Jumps: From the ladder, I practiced small jumps, focusing on landing safely on the crash pad.
The Leap of Faith
After a while, I felt like I was ready to try the actual jump. Not the full thing, but something closer to it. I took a deep breath, climbed up, and…jumped. It was a rush! I landed on my feet, kind of shaky, but I did it. It wasn’t pretty, but I felt like I was getting somewhere.
- The Big Jump: This was it. The moment of truth. I took a deep breath, climbed up, and leaped.
- Landing Shaky: My landing wasn’t perfect, but I managed to stay on my feet.
Still a Work in Progress
I’ve been practicing this for weeks now, and I’m still nowhere near doing it like Balor. It’s way harder than it looks. But I’m getting better, little by little. The jumps are getting smoother, the landings are getting softer. I’m still not brave enough to try it from a real high place, though. Maybe someday. For now, I’m just happy to be making some progress. It’s a fun challenge, and it definitely gets the adrenaline pumping!
- Continuous Practice: I’m still at it, practicing regularly.
- Gradual Improvement: My jumps are getting better, my landings are improving.
- Future Goals: Maybe one day I’ll try it from a higher spot. But for now, baby steps!
It’s a long way to go, but I’m enjoying the journey. It’s a heck of a workout, too! My legs are killing me, but it is a good kind of sore, you know?
