Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this Traptrix deck, right? And let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I wanted to build something that could handle the meta, but also had a bit of a unique flavor. Traptrix seemed like a cool archetype – all those trap holes and plant monsters, you know?
First, I started by gathering all the Traptrix monsters I could find. Myrmeleo, Dionaea, Mantis, you name it. I wanted to see how they all worked together. I spent hours just testing out different combinations, seeing which ones flowed well. It was kinda like putting together a puzzle, except the pieces kept changing.
- I started with 3 of each of the main Traptrix monsters, like Myrmeleo, Dionaea, and Mantis.
- Then I added some of the newer ones, like Pudica and Atrax, just to see what they could do.
- Threw in some hand traps like Ash Blossom and Effect Veiler because, well, you gotta have those in this meta.
Next, I dove into the trap hole cards. Man, there are so many! I tried out all the classics – Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare, Bottomless Trap Hole, Floodgate Trap Hole. I even experimented with some of the less common ones, like Gravedigger’s Trap Hole. It was a lot of trial and error, figuring out which ones were actually useful and which ones were just taking up space.
Building the Extra Deck was a whole other beast. I knew I needed the Traptrix Xyz monsters, like Rafflesia and Pinguicula, but figuring out the rest was tough. I played around with different Rank 4s, like Bagooska and Abyss Dweller. I even tried throwing in some Link monsters, like Aromaseraphy Jasmine. Ultimately, I wanted to ensure I had options for different situations.
