Okay, so today I messed around with this idea I had – a clock puzzle, but with animals, and it all kind of came together in this “well” setting. It was a bit of a random idea, but I think it turned out pretty cool.

I started by sketching out the basic concept. I pictured this old, stone well, you know, the kind you see in fairy tales. But instead of numbers around the clock face, I wanted different animals. Each animal would represent an hour.
Brainstorming and Rough Sketches
- First, I jotted down a list of twelve animals. I wanted a good mix, some common, some a bit more unusual. I ended up with: a snail, a mouse, a rabbit, a squirrel, a cat, a dog, a pig, a goat, a sheep, a cow, a horse, and for 12, an owl.
- Then I started sketching each animal, trying to give them a bit of personality. The snail was slow and sleepy, the mouse was tiny and quick, the owl was wise and perched up high, and so on.
- I drew the well itself, making it look old and weathered, with moss and cracks in the stones.
- I sketched clock hands.
Putting It Together
Once I had the basic elements, I started arranging them. I placed the animals around the circular well, trying to keep them somewhat evenly spaced. The owl, being the “12,” went right at the top, overlooking everything.
The clock hands were tricky. I wanted them to look like they belonged in the scene, so I made them out of twisted branches, with one slightly longer and thicker than the other. It’s rough drawing.
Final Touches
The final drawing is what I think. I hope I can make it real products, not just drawing.
