Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into “Path to Nowhere” lately, and man, figuring out which characters are worth investing in has been a JOURNEY. I finally decided to make my own tier list, mostly for myself, but I figured, why not share the struggle and maybe help some folks out?

First, I spent a good chunk of time just playing the game. No guides, no outside opinions, just me and the sinners. I wanted to get a feel for each character’s playstyle and see how they performed in different situations. I quickly realized that some sinners that I initially thought were weak were surprisingly strong in the right teams.
Then, I started taking notes. I have a messy, not-that-pretty, spreadsheet that I use where I jotted down things like:
- How easy was it to clear stages with this character?
- Did they feel powerful, or did I have to babysit them?
- Did they work well with other characters I liked?
- What were their apparent pros and cons during my gameplay?
After gathering my initial thoughts, I looked at what other players were saying. I checked out some online forums, and watched a few videos. This was mostly to see if I was way off base with my assessments. Turns out, I wasn’t too far off, but I did get some good insights on characters I hadn’t fully explored yet.
The hard part was actually putting everyone into tiers. I decided to go with the classic S, A, B, C, D system.
I began moving the sinners that I felt very strong about, and those were the S-Tier, very useful and reliable, the rest would need more testing.
My Process of Elimination.
I started with the S-tier, my top picks, and the D-tier, the ones I consistently struggled with. Then I started filling in the gaps. A-tier was for characters that were really good, but maybe had a specific niche or weren’t quite as universally powerful as the S-tiers. B-tier was for solid, reliable characters, and C-tier was for those that were okay, but maybe had some significant drawbacks.
It took a lot of back and forth. I’d move a character up a tier, then play a few more stages and realize they weren’t quite as good as I thought, and bump them back down. I kept refining it until I felt like I had a list that reflected my experiences and the general consensus of the community.

Finally, I had a tier list that I was reasonably happy with. It’s definitely not perfect, and I’m sure some people will disagree with my placements, but that’s part of the fun, right? The meta changes, new characters come out, and strategies evolve. It’s a constant learning process!
