Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “written chest tattoos” all over my feed lately, and I gotta say, I was intrigued. I’m not usually one for big, bold tattoos, but something about the way the words flow across the chest just looked so cool. So, I decided to give it a shot… temporarily, of course!

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what I wanted to “write.” I didn’t want anything too cheesy or cliché. After a lot of brainstorming (and scrolling through Pinterest, let’s be honest), I settled on a short phrase that means a lot to me: “Brave the Storm.” Seemed fitting for a chest piece, right?
Choosing My “Ink”
Now, since I wasn’t ready to commit to a real tattoo, I needed a good alternative. I considered a few options:
- Henna: Too long-lasting for a quick experiment.
- Temporary Tattoo Paper: Seemed like a hassle to print and apply perfectly.
- Eyeliner: This is what I went with! Specifically, a waterproof, felt-tip liquid eyeliner. Figured it would give me the most control and look the most like a real tattoo.
The Application Process
This was definitely the trickiest part. I grabbed a mirror and started by lightly sketching out the letters with a regular pencil. This helped me get the placement and spacing right. Then, very slowly and carefully, I traced over the pencil with the eyeliner.
Pro-tip (that I learned the hard way): Don’t press too hard with the eyeliner! It’s better to build up the color gradually. I also found it helpful to stretch the skin taut while I was working to prevent any wobbly lines.
It’s not * the position,I need to look * it’s hard to draw on my chest.
The Result
Okay, so it wasn’t perfect. My handwriting isn’t exactly tattoo-artist quality, and there were a few smudges. But you know what? I actually loved it! It looked pretty darn cool, and it gave me a good idea of what a real chest tattoo might look like on me.
I rocked my “written chest tattoo” for the rest of the day, and I even got a few compliments! It was a fun little experiment, and it definitely satisfied my curiosity. Would I get a real one someday? Maybe! But for now, I’m happy with my eyeliner masterpiece.
