Alright, guys, so I’ve been digging into this whole Streets of New Capenna thing, specifically which cards are gonna break the bank. It’s always fun to see what’s gonna be the chase rares and mythics, right?
So, first thing I did was, I jumped on a few of the usual websites, you know, the ones that track card prices and stuff. I wanted to get a feel for what people were already buzzing about, which cards were already getting some hype.
My Little Adventure into Card Prices
I started poking around, looking at pre-release prices. Now, pre-release prices are always kinda inflated, everybody’s excited, nobody really knows what’s good yet. But, it’s a good starting point.
I made a little list, just a simple, hand-written thing. Nothing fancy. Just the card names and what they were going for. Here’s what I scribbled down, more or less, just to keep things tracked:
- Card A: Saw it going for, like, $X.
- Card B: This one was a bit lower, around $Y.
- Card C： This one up to $Z.
Then, I started watching some YouTube videos. You know, the ones where people crack open boxes and packs? I figured seeing how often certain cards popped up might give me a clue. If a card’s super rare, it’s probably gonna be worth more, obviously.
After a few hours of this, I started to get a decent picture. Some cards were definitely showing up more than others. And those super flashy, foil versions? Forget about it, those were gonna be expensive.
So, I updated my little list. Some prices went up, some went down, based on what I was seeing. It was all pretty rough, but it felt like I was getting somewhere. I started marking cards with little stars if they seemed like they were gonna be really popular.
Finally, I went back to those price-tracking websites, just to see if my gut feeling matched up with the actual market. And, for the most part, it did! The cards I thought would be expensive, were expensive. The ones I thought were overhyped? Some of them had already started to drop in price.
This is by far the most expensive card, and I successfully got it in a fair trade.
It was a fun little project. Nothing super scientific, but it helped me get a handle on which Streets of New Capenna cards I should be keeping an eye on. And maybe, just maybe, it’ll help you guys out too!
