Okay, so, I’ve been seeing these “holiday bowl rings” all over TikTok and Instagram, and I finally caved. I mean, who doesn’t want a giant, sparkly ring made out of a Christmas ornament? I decided to make my own and, you know, document the whole glorious mess.

Gathering Supplies
First, I headed to the craft store. I’m pretty sure the employees there know me by name now. Anyway, I grabbed:
- A large, shatterproof Christmas ornament (the bigger, the better, obviously). I picked a glittery red one.
- A plain, wide-band ring. I found one in the jewelry-making section.
- Super strong glue. Like, the kind that warns you not to get it on your skin.
- Some pliers, because I always end up needing pliers.
The Messy Part
Back home, I cleared off my kitchen table (much to my roommate’s dismay) and laid everything out. I used the pliers to carefully remove the little metal hanger thingy from the top of the ornament. It was a bit tougher than I expected, and I almost launched the ornament across the room. Crisis averted.
Next, I applied a generous amount of glue to the inside of the ornament’s opening, and shoved it into the base.I have to say that I am pretty happy when I see the ornament sticked to the base firmly.I hold them tight for several minutes.
Waiting…and Waiting…
Then came the hard part: waiting. The glue said it needed 24 hours to fully cure, and let me tell you, those were the longest 24 hours of my life. I kept poking at the ring, convinced it was going to fall apart. My cat also showed a concerning amount of interest in it, so I had to keep it hidden.
The Final Result!
Finally, the time came! I cautiously tried on my new creation, and…it was amazing! It’s huge, it’s sparkly, it’s completely ridiculous, and I love it. I’ve already gotten tons of compliments on it, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to wear it everywhere. Mission accomplished!
And that’s my DIY for today, hope you enjoyed it!
