Okay, so today I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out this crossword clue: “_ de France”. I mean, seriously, who knows these things off the top of their head? Not me, apparently.
First, I stared at it. Like, really stared. Hoping the answer would magically appear. It didn’t.
Then, I started listing out anything French I could think of. “Eiffel Tower… baguette… croissant… nope, nope, and definitely nope.” My brain was not cooperating.
My Little Research Process
- I grabbed my phone. Google time! I typed in “_ de France crossword” and…bam! A bunch of crossword solver sites popped up.
- I scrolled through a few, and most were suggesting “Tour”. Could it be? It seemed too simple.
- I thought, “Okay, what else could fit?” But everything else I tried just looked ridiculous in the puzzle.
- Finally, I just plunged “Tour” into the crossword. And… it fit! All the crossing words worked too.
Seriously, “Tour de France”! It was that easy. I felt a little dumb, but hey, at least I got it. Sometimes, the most obvious answer is the right one, even if you have to go down a rabbit hole of online crossword solvers to find it. I’m just glad that one’s over with! Now, onto the next clue…
