Okay, so today I decided to mess around with Edge and Lita. I’d heard about them, but never really put the two together. Let’s see what I did.
Getting Started
First, I needed to get everything set up. I already had Edge installed because, well, it’s * came with my Windows.
So the real first step was grabbing Lita. I just followed some basic instructions online. It seemed simple enough, just needing Ruby and some other stuff.
Putting Them Together (or Trying To)
This is where things got a little…fuzzy. I thought I could just, you know, make them talk to each other easily. I was thinking Lita could listen for some commands, then I just use Edge.
I messed around with some configuration files for Lita, trying to get it to acknowledge when I typed * shows me something in the command line, so I think it’s working, right?
The Actual “Work”
After a couple of hours,I just try to made some simple interactions.
- First try: Type a greeting. Nothing.
- Second try: Use a command I thought I set up. Still nothing.
- Third try:I use a command for lita that I know it works,and it did work.
So, maybe I’m missing something obvious. Or maybe I’m just way overthinking it. Or maybe I’m trying to do something that isn’t even the point of these two * is just for simple usage,and show something in the command lines,after all.
I finally got a simple response!I’m not gonna lie, it felt like a small victory.
Wrapping Up (for Now)
Honestly, I’m still not 100% sure what I accomplished today.I got something working, but it’s not exactly earth-shattering.I think I need to do a lot more reading and experimenting before I really “get” how to use these tools effectively.
It was a good starting point, though.I’ll probably keep tinkering with this in the future,maybe try to make something a little more complex. Or, you know, I might just move on to the next shiny thing that catches my eye. That’s usually how it goes!
