Okay, so I was trying to tackle this “In Search of Lost Time” thing in Genshin Impact. I’d heard about it, seen some snippets online, but never actually gotten around to doing it myself. So, I figured, “Why not? Let’s give it a shot!”

Getting Started
First, I logged into Genshin, obviously. I wasn’t even sure where to start, so I did what any reasonable person would do – I Googled it! I found out I needed to head over to a specific spot in Elynas, in the Fontaine region. Easy enough, I thought. I teleported to the nearest waypoint and started gliding over.
The Hunt Begins
The guide I found said I needed to find some guy, I forget his name, some painter dude. Henri! That’s the name I could not remember. He was supposed to be near some easels. I spotted the easels pretty quickly, but no painter. I ran around a bit, checking behind rocks and trees, thinking maybe he was hiding or something. Nope, nothing.
Then I realized the quest marker wasn’t active. Duh! I needed to actually trigger the quest first. I messed around by interacting with the easels, checked out the nearby scenery, clicked on everything, and then found a “Strange Painting”. Finally, that triggered a cutscene and the painter popped up.
Following the Clues
After some dialogue, which I mostly skimmed, I had to go find some more paintings. The quest marker made this super simple, thankfully. I just followed the markers, found the paintings, and had some more dialogue at each spot. It was pretty straightforward, just a lot of running around.
- First painting: Easy to find, just followed the marker.
- Second painting: A bit further away, but still no problem.
- Third painting: This one was a little tricky, it was hidden a bit more, but still manageable.
The Final Showdown
After finding all the paintings, there was a bit of a fight. Some Treasure Hoarders showed up. It wasn’t a tough fight, took them down pretty quickly. Standard Genshin combat, nothing fancy. I used my usual team, so it was a breeze.
Wrapping Up
After the fight, more dialogue, and then… boom! Quest complete. I got some Primogems, some other rewards, and a sense of accomplishment. It wasn’t the most exciting quest I’ve ever done, but it was a nice little diversion. And hey, I finally got it done!
In the end, all I did was log in, search, trigger the quest, follow markers, fight some enemies, and then I got my rewards.
