Okay, so the other day I was watching some old NBA highlights, and it got me thinking – who actually holds the record for the most points scored in a single half? I mean, we’ve all seen those games where a player just goes absolutely nuclear, right?

So, I started digging around. First, I just hit up Google, you know, the usual. Typed in something like “most points NBA half record”.
My Research Process
- Started a simple search. It is where everyone would go to.
- Found some names, quickly realized need to be more accurate.
- Checked some NBA official records, but not very satisfied.
I found some initial answers, a few names popped up, but I wanted to be absolutely sure. I mean, this is a pretty cool record, and I didn’t want to get it wrong. So I went a bit deeper.
I started looking at some dedicated basketball stats websites. You know, the ones with all the detailed box scores and historical data. It took a little while, clicking through different pages, and double-checking the numbers, but it was worth it.
Finally, I got my answer, and confirmed with multiple sources. It’s Wilt Chamberlain, of course! The guy scored an unbelievable 59 points in the second half of a game back in 1962. I had to watch some clips of that game, can you imagine the crowd during that time?
So, yeah, that’s my little research adventure for the day. Turns out, sometimes the obvious answer is the right one, but it’s always fun to dig in and make sure!
