Alright, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football names, and I gotta say, the Devonta Smith ones are a goldmine. I mean, the guy’s a stud, and his name just lends itself to puns. Here’s how I went about brainstorming and what I came up with.
The Brainstorm Session
First, I just sat down and started throwing words around. You know, the usual stuff. Think about what rhymes, what sounds similar, what kind of wordplay you can do.
I started with a basic Google search, that is important, just put “devonta smith” into the search bar and check the “suggest”.I get some keywords there,then copy and paste them to my *,right?
Then,I started scribbling down anything that came to mind. No filter, just pure, unadulterated brainstorming. Here’s a peek at my notes:
- Smithsonian – Okay, kinda obvious, but it works.
- Devonta’s Inferno – A little dramatic, maybe?
- Slim Reaper – His nickname, instant classic.
- Smith & Wesson-Like gun?
Refining the List
After the initial brain dump, I started to refine the list. I wanted names that were clever, funny, and maybe a little bit intimidating. I thought to myself, “What would make me chuckle if I saw it in my league?”
I grouped the names into loose categories:

I ranked them. Seriously, I made a little top 5 list. It helped me focus on the best of the * really all came down to what made me laugh the most and what felt the most “fantasy football” appropriate.
It is important to keep it simple,you do not want a long name that will not make you feel *,finally, I decided to use one simple and short name,that is “Slim Reaper”.
